Work Done

  1. Assisted in identifying Week 9 checkout issues (free listing bug + Stripe capability error) by testing multiple request → approval → checkout scenarios.

  2. Verified the behaviour of listings during checkout, ensuring paid items don’t show as “Free Listing.”

  3. Helped test Stripe payment flow after fixes, including:

    • Business account capability validation

    • Food price transfer

    • Platform fee handling

  4. Conducted UI checks across the checkout and delivery pages to ensure stable rendering after backend payment updates.

  5. Supported team with Sherpa flow testing (quote generation & distance calculation).

Current Status

  1. Checkout UI is stable after fixes; paid listings now show correct price.

  2. Stripe payment flow is working with updated capability and transfer logic.

  3. Sherpa quote fetching is functional for testing distances below and above 20 km.

  4. No blocking UI bugs remaining on request → approve → checkout path.

Plans for Next Week

  1. Help integrate finalised split payment (donor amount + platform fee + delivery fee).

  2. Assist in testing the AI recommendation behaviour for food search.

  3. Continue UI refinements for checkout, delivery screen, and small-device scaling.

  4. Support backend testing for Sherpa workflow once payment breakdown is complete.

 Week-5 Report  June 28, 2025 My focus this week was on broadening our project by suggesting an idea that lends itself to our aim of tackling the problems of food waste and food accessibility - a Community Fridge Locator and Booking System. The idea was spurred by Starr's own research into local food-sharing projects, where community fridges are emerging as an increasingly popular grassroots solution. By adding a map-based fridge locator to our system, users will be able to see where there are community fridges near them, what is available or needed at which fridges, and they can even claim space to drop off their food. This sort of system can be very helpful for smaller food businesses or supermarkets, or anyone wishing to give away perishables in a speedy, organised fashion.
