Overview

The primary focus of my Week 8 tasks was to improve key user interface screens, ensure stability across various request-related features, and collect image evidence for the team’s weekly progress documentation. A major portion of the work involved reviewing and testing the request workflows, food listings, and checkout screens to maintain consistent functionality across devices.

Work Done

1. Request Management Improvements

  • Reviewed and refined the Incoming Requests and My Requests screens for clarity and consistency.

  • Ensured visibility of request statuses such as:

    • Approved

    • Denied

    • Pending

  • Helped verify the toggle behavior between the two request types to ensure smooth usability.

2. Food Listings UI Verification

  • Checked and improved various visual elements of the Browse Food and Home Listing screens.

  • Ensured correctness of:

    • Food price and quantity display

    • Available time indicators

    • Partial-claim flags (e.g., 1/4 claimed)

    • Expired listings being dimmed for clarity

    • “Shared by Individuals” labels appearing where needed

3. Checkout & Delivery Flow Testing

  • Conducted tests on the checkout and payment flow, ensuring Stripe redirection functions correctly.

  • Verified users are able to return to the app without crashes.

  • Checked the layout and steps within the Delivery Tracking page for clarity and readiness for Sherpa API integration.

4. Image Evidence Preparation

  • Captured and organised screenshots for the Week 8 report, covering:

    • Request handling screens

    • Food listings (normal, partial claimed, expired)

    • Checkout UI

    • Delivery tracking

    • Create listing page

    • Dashboard & profile views

  • Ensured visual documentation aligns with the project’s development progress.

Current Status and Plans

  1. Continue improving layout responsiveness for Login and Register screens (padding, scroll fix, spacing).

  2. Support integration of the Sherpa delivery API for real-time tracking functions.

  3. Assist in testing the AI-powered search and recommendations feature once integrated.

  4. Begin preparing documentation for future testing tasks.

 Week-5 Report  June 28, 2025 My focus this week was on broadening our project by suggesting an idea that lends itself to our aim of tackling the problems of food waste and food accessibility - a Community Fridge Locator and Booking System.
