Week 5 Progress and Status

 Title : Sprint 2


This week while implementing location permission to view foods nearby ran into some issue and then as of now the app is cleanly working and Sprint 2 is almost done expect the Firebase Storage permission part. Also I added a checkout scenario and users are also able to chat with the Food Donor for coordination while the Push notification still needs some work. Basic UI layout for checkout once the food is approved by the Donor.

Plans for Next Week

  • Prepare for the Progress demonstration Check
  • Fix the Permission Error
  • Perfect Rendering of the Map View for Foods Neavy
  • Permission to Access Location to be smooth
  • Look into Push Notification for chat and approval.
  • Look in Stripe Api.

 Week-5 Report  June 28, 2025 My focus this week was on broadening our project by suggesting an idea that lends itself to our aim of tackling the problems of food waste and food accessibility - a Community Fridge Locator and Booking System. The idea was spurred by Starr's own research into local food-sharing projects, where community fridges are emerging as an increasingly popular grassroots solution. By adding a map-based fridge locator to our system, users will be able to see where there are community fridges near them, what is available or needed at which fridges, and they can even claim space to drop off their food. This sort of system can be very helpful for smaller food businesses or supermarkets, or anyone wishing to give away perishables in a speedy, organised fashion.
