Week 6 - Research

 As we have decided to integrate Delivery Partners, i did some research and then found out that Uber Eats API is easily available and comes with clear instruction on their Uber Developers Docs. Google Maps API can be used for pickup location. Stripe API for real time payments. 

We are still deciding on the tech to use and I find out that APIs are easily integrable with Python and JavaScript(Particularly with Node.js)  

Issue Found and Solved

As the way i created communication and contingency plan did not meet the requirements, we got feedback from teacher and fixed it right away.




Along with this I also compared some other programming languages that can be used for our project. started with pros and cons list of 5 languages along with databases.

 Week-5 Report  June 28, 2025 My focus this week was on broadening our project by suggesting an idea that lends itself to our aim of tackling the problems of food waste and food accessibility - a Community Fridge Locator and Booking System. The idea was spurred by Starr's own research into local food-sharing projects, where community fridges are emerging as an increasingly popular grassroots solution. By adding a map-based fridge locator to our system, users will be able to see where there are community fridges near them, what is available or needed at which fridges, and they can even claim space to drop off their food. This sort of system can be very helpful for smaller food businesses or supermarkets, or anyone wishing to give away perishables in a speedy, organised fashion. Week 5 Report

  Week 5 Report  Project: Food NextDoor This week,  I engaged with some theoretical and technical explore to better understand the online food ordering and delivery ecosystem. This involves reviewing related academic literature on the topic and analyzing how existing systems are organized and tested. I go back to the Trello board to track progress and ensure alignment with the tasks allocated across the team. This helped me to understand better how each component fits into our larger proposal and what indicators are approaching. During our colleague discussion, we focused on finalizing the roadmap and identifying the next steps. The conversation helped clarify roles and expectations, and we also briefly discussed system features that might be adaptable from real-world examples.
