Week- 5 Report
This week, I focused on connecting all the ideas and features we’ve been discussing over the past few weeks into a more cohesive app experience for FoodNextDoor. With strong foundations like real-time food donation and the community fridge system already laid out by the team, I wanted to explore how these modules can work together smoothly for the end user.
Mapping User Journeys
I started by creating detailed user flow diagrams for our three main user types:
-
Food donors (e.g., restaurants, households)
-
Food recipients (charities, individuals)
-
Fridge users (people accessing or contributing to community fridges)
This helped me visualise the full journey each user takes—from login to their final action (like donating or claiming food). It also highlighted some missing screens and potential pain points that we’ll need to address in the next phase of UI design.
